Choose a Deethanizer Tower Design that’s Built to Perform

What are you looking for in deethanizer tower design? Durable construction that will stand the test of time, even in harsh conditions? Or the features necessary for meeting all requirements and keeping everyone safe? The team at Boardman believes you should have high efficiency, dependable operation, durable construction, and the safety features you want and need in your deethanizer tower design and fabrication. And let’s not forget the stewardship necessary for making the entire manufacturing process simple for you.

The Fabricator You Select Matters

Is there only one deethanizer fabricator to choose from? We all know the answer is “No.” You can decide on your fabricator based on a number of factors, including price, reputation, location, and capabilities.

But here’s something to think about. Have you ever worked with a fabricator who puts stewardship at the forefront of every job? Who takes the time to ask you how involved you want to be in tower or column fabrication? Or how much help you’ll need through the design and fabrication process?

That’s the Boardman promise—and that’s what sets us apart from others in the industry. We have the capabilities, the attention to detail, the certifications, and the skills you need—and we also have the stewardship and personal service you want.

Deethanizer Applications in a Variety of Industries

A deethanizer is a type of distillation column used in industrial chemical processes to separate ethane (C2H6) from natural gas and other light hydrocarbon mixtures. Its main purpose is to reduce ethane levels in products such as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in order to meet pipeline specifications, increase product value, and meet other environmental regulations.

Here are a few more applications for which we fabricate deethanizers:

  • Agriculture: To remove ethane and other gases from air that passes through greenhouses.
  • Biotechnology: To limit ethanol production during the fermentation process.
  • Chemical Engineering: To purify chemical compounds, repurifying liquefied hydrocarbons.
  • Energy Production: To remove ethane from raw natural gas and then recycle the ethane back into the production process.
  • Oil Refining: To remove heavy hydrocarbons, such as ethane, before fractional distillation.
  • Steel Production: To maintain proper control over combustion temperatures in large furnaces.
  • Waste Management: To reduce odor emissions from sewage treatment plants.

What type of application will your deethanizer fulfill? We’re waiting to discuss your project, so we can determine how to help you succeed.

The Capabilities that Will Make Your Deethanizer Project a Success

When it comes to deethanizer tower design, we have the fabrication capabilities to make that design come to life, with reliability, durability, and performance.

For These Industries

These industries most commonly require deethanizer tower design and fabrication:

Up to These Dimensions

Boardman’s 140,000 ft² Oklahoma City facility is capable of handling projects up to and including these dimensions.

  • Walls 6” Thick
  • 16’ ID
  • 200’ Long
  • 350 Tons

Made From These Materials

No matter the metal your project requires, we have the capability of fabricating using any of these materials:

To Meet These Standards

In general, a deethanizer tower must meet standards for the safe operation of high pressure equipment, including standards for the design, fabrication, and inspection of pressure vessels.

In the US, deethanizer towers are typically required to meet the requirements of the following:

  • American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
  • Other relevant industry codes and standards, such as the American Petroleum Institute (API) Standard 520, Part II

More than Deethanizer Tower Design

You will find professional, experienced, certified deethanizer tower design, engineering, fabrication, and field services at Boardman. But that’s just the beginning of our trayed tower and column capabilities. Other items you’ll see leaving Boardman include:

As soon as possible, let’s discuss how our trayed tower and column services can make your project run more smoothly—from design all the way through delivery. And while we’re at it, let’s talk about any ASME pressure vessel or custom fabrication needs you might have. We’re here to make your next project easy!

Definitely a great team effort between HFS and Boardman to get this knocked out quickly with no mistakes.  Appreciate you and your teams help getting this across the finish line!

“I am glad you guys do the newsletters. Educate AND do the work. Most don’t do this. It is similar to what Dave Ramsay says about looking for a Financial Advisor… look for one with a heart of a teacher.”

Equipment Engineer

“I would like to go out of my way to say this is the quickest I have seen a vessel come together. Your ability to manage this on such short notice does not go unnoticed and definitely will earn you some more business. Your professional approach and ability to keep this moving was amazing! I was hoping to see this thing through to the end and see about getting some Guiness world record trophy on our walls.”

Mechanical Engineer

“It was a real pleasure working with you and your team. I wish all vendors would have the same high quality team!”

Expeditor

“Your engineering team has gone above and beyond for our current projects. We have thrown quite a few changes at them and they have dug into code details that are not normally required to satisfy the requests of some of our SME folks. They are always available, even when they’re off or on weekends to help answer any urgent questions. I tried to find something we can do to help recognize the extra efforts, but could not come up with anything. Thank you for the efforts and willingness to work with us so closely on these urgent jobs.”

Mechanical Engineer

“It was great pleasure and it was sure a huge effort pulled by Boardman organization. Promoting such events are very helpful to the engineering community in general but very few places realize the same. Boardman being exceptional and very hospitable place to be for this event. I want to say Thank You Boardman!”

Mechanical Engineer

“The class was an excellent use of time and has increased my industry knowledge. Good mix of both end user and design engineer attendance which drove discussions into new directions. I will highly recommend to my firm for attendance next year.”

Mechanical Engineer

S&B Engineering

“Thank you and everyone at Boardman for an excellent 2 days of training and exceptional hospitality. While it gave me the opportunity to get out of the office for 2 days, it was also a great training/refreshing opportunity for me and on top of it, I got to visit your facility, which I think is quite impressive. Hope to have some more work in your shop soon. There are several folks here who were amazed when I told them that you guys had welding stations set up and each of us got to weld and try out as many as 4 welding processes. Please keep me posted on the next training session.”

Vessel Engineer

“I just wanted to share some photos of the Deisobutonizer being lifted into place yesterday. None of this would have been possible without your efforts in both the manufacturing and transport of the tower. This is the largest structure on the project and you all deserve a lot of credit for this milestone. It was not only a pleasure to work with you all on this fabrication and hauling to site of the monstrosity but it was a privilege to have such a team behind us to make this happen with no incident and what on the surface seemed child’s play. You all should be very proud of yourselves and your collective teams and firms, without you none of this was even conceivable.”
