What Are The Types of Welding Processes at Boardman

If you visit our 140,000 ft² facility in Oklahoma City, OK, you’ll see any of our 40 welding machines being operated to perform one of seven different types of welding. Some of these heavy-duty welding processes include:

SAW (Submerged Arc Welding)

SAW is used at Boardman to efficiently weld long seams on large tanks and vessels with high quality. We use a solid electrode submerged in flux, ideal for long, continuous, and round seams.

FCAW (Flux Core)

FCAW is a versatile, efficient process Boardman uses for strong fillet welds on nozzles and structural attachments. This is best suited for nozzle insertion welds, skirts, support clips, and fillet welds.

GMAW (MIG Welding)

GMAW (MIG Welding) gives our team at Boardman a fast, clean option for groove and fillet welds across a range of material thicknesses. We use a solid electrode with shielding gas instead of flux.

GTAW (TIG Welding)

GTAW (TIG) welding produces very high-quality welds and is often used by Boardman for precise root passes on pipes, where cleanliness and accuracy are critical. This process delivers precise, high-quality welds for critical joints requiring tight tolerances and clean finishes.
